This September, take on the Big Blue Dip – Wild Swim Challenge and make every swim count. Take a dip in your favourite beach, lake, river, or outdoor swimming spot anywhere across Ireland, while helping drive change for Deaf Mental Health.
Complete 5 swims throughout September and join a nationwide community of swimmers coming together to raise vital funds to advocate for a more inclusive future and improve the wellbeing and quality of life of Deaf children, adults, and families across Ireland.
Why We Swim
Deaf people in Ireland still face significant barriers when accessing mental health support, including a shortage of Irish Sign Language-fluent professionals and services that are not fully accessible.
By taking on the Big Blue Dip – Wild Swim Challenge, you’re helping the Irish Deaf Society raise vital funds and awareness to create a more inclusive mental health system.

As part of the Wild Swim Challenge, you can choose to make one of your five swims even more memorable by joining us for Big Blue Dip Day on Saturday, 5th September!
Held in Dublin, at Portmarnock Beach, this special event will bring together supporters for a fun community swim, a chance to celebrate your fundraising journey, and a shared moment of making waves for Deaf Mental Health.
