Help Each Other | Deaf Mental Health Dublin Marathon 2026 team running for IDS
The Deaf Mental Health team is made up of 9 Deaf runners and 1 CODA who will take part in the Irish Life Dublin Marathon 2026. They are running in memory of a Deaf friend who passed away earlier this year, a team member’s Deaf brother who passed in 2019, and other Deaf people whose lives ended too soon.
They run to honour them, to raise awareness, and to encourage positive change in mental health support for the Deaf community.
The Irish Deaf Society recently launched a Deaf-led mental health policy paper and is actively campaigning for urgent improvements, including a fully Deaf-accessible Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) and better access to Irish Sign Language (ISL) mental health support and counselling.
The team’s goal is to raise important funds to support this work and help ensure that Deaf children, young people, and adults can access mental health services in their own language, without barriers.
By supporting this team, you are helping to build a future where Deaf people can receive the mental health care they deserve.
