About the Workshop
This interactive online workshop introduces Deaf learners to the basics of artificial intelligence (AI) and how it can be used in everyday life. The session is designed for ISL users and focuses on visual tools and practical examples. Participants will explore how AI can help with writing, organising, learning, and creative tasks .

- Understand what artificial intelligence is and how it works in simple terms.
- Everyday Uses of AI
Explore how AI is used in phones, websites, and apps to help with tasks like translation, writing, and image creation.
- Using AI for Writing and Editing
Learn how to use AI tools to write messages, improve grammar, and organise ideas.
- Creative AI Tools
Try out visual tools that generate images, help with design, or support storytelling.
- Safe and Responsible Use
Discuss how to use AI safely, avoid misinformation, and protect your privacy.
- Mini Project: AI Task Practice
Choose a task (e.g. writing a short message, creating a visual) and complete it using an AI tool.
- Group Sharing and Feedback
Share your experience with the group and learn from others.
Prerequisites
This workshop is for ISL users only. No previous experience with AI or technology is needed. Bring your laptops, tablets, iPads or mobile phones with you.
Progression
After completing this workshop, learners will be able to use AI tools confidently for personal, educational, or creative tasks. They may choose to join longer digital skills or creative technology courses.
