About the Course
“Astronomy – Life Outside Earth” is a 10-week online course designed to support learners in developing introductory knowledge relating to astronomy, planetary science, and the environmental conditions required to support life beyond Earth through guided learning, practical activities, and learner-centred discussion.

- Introduction to astronomy, planets, stars, and galaxies
- Understanding the conditions required for life
- Exploring planets and moons within the Solar System
- Investigating Mars and other potentially habitable worlds
- Exploring exoplanets and methods used to detect them
- Understanding the concept of the habitable zone
- Examining current and future space missions
- Participating in guided learning activities and discussion
