About the Workshop
This creative workshop celebrates International Women’s Day by giving Deaf women a space to express themselves through art. In collaboration with NDWI (National Deaf Women of Ireland), the workshop invites participants to explore themes of identity, strength, and community using visual storytelling. It is designed for ISL users and welcomes both beginners and experienced artists.
What You Will Learn
- Celebrating Deaf Women’s Voices
- Explore what International Women’s Day means and how art can express personal and collective experiences.
- Visual Storytelling Techniques
Use colour, shape, and composition to share your story and message.
- Mixed Media Exploration
Combine drawing, painting, collage, and text to create layered, expressive artwork.
- Group Reflection and Sharing
Take part in discussions and collaborative activities that highlight shared experiences and support.
- Mini Project: Personal Expression Piece
Create a unique artwork that reflects your identity, values, or hopes.
- Final Showcase
Present your finished piece to the group and take part in a mini exhibition celebrating Deaf women’s creativity.
Prerequisites
This workshop is for ISL users only. No previous art experience is needed.
Progression
After completing this workshop, learners may choose to join longer art courses, participate in NDWI activities, or continue developing their creative skills independently.
