Open invitation to crisis information meeting about IDS

We are inviting all members of the Irish Deaf Society and our friends in the Deaf Community to an open information meeting on Saturday January 19th at 14:00 in the Deaf Heritage Centre in the Deaf Village, Dublin. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the financial crisis that threatens to close IDS.

Many of you will have seen our press release in December and little has changed since then. At this stage we think it is important to have an open and frank discussion with our members and our community about our inability to continue working for the Deaf community without the necessary support from the Government.

We look forward to seeing you at 14:00. We will have a short presentation from Lianne Quiqley, our chairperson, John Bosco Conama from our board and our CEO John Sherwin. This will be followed by questions and answers. With your input, our CEO will finish up the meeting with a statement about our next steps.

We would be grateful if you could make the time to attend this meeting, the organisation is facing its most serious challenge and we need the help and support of our community.
