The Sign Language Interpreting Service is the national agency for the provision of Irish Sign Language Interpreting services.
Its customers include members of the Deaf community, the public sector, hospitals, schools, universities, business community and individual members of the public.
The main purpose of this agency is to ensure that customers of Sign Language Interpreting Service have access to high quality interpretation, delivered to the highest professional standards.
The agency is in the process of developing the roll out of technology enabled interpreting. This will be of particular advantage to those living in areas that are difficult to access.
It will be of benefit to hospitals with urgent needs to access interpreting services.
Remote interpreting is a service that will be designed to bring additional value to the established methods of interpretation and not intended to replace them.

This is a restricted service due to the limited number of Interpreters available to provide Medical and Legal Interpreting.

Bridge Interpreting was set up to give this growing ISL Interpreting body a support structure within which they can develop fulfilling careers.

Established in 2001 to develop a centre of excellence in the West of Ireland for the study of Irish Sign Language. We work to increase awareness of sign language users as a linguistic community. Our training and interpreting services can assist you to provide deaf people with an equitable experience of access to your centre, service or education facility in line with disability and equality legislation.
In addition to offering standard interpreting services, we provide communication services to vulnerable deaf adults, minors, and non-nationals, working in English, Irish Sign Language, and other forms of signed communication including deafblind tactile communication and orientation. We offer forensic interpreting and translation services and have over 20 years experience in legal and medical interpreting sectors. As a private business we do not receive direct public funding. Our service is self-funding, is serving the community and is not profit driven.
